Who we are

Traci Svee OTR/L

Clinic Owner & Founder

Sensory Hangar OT is a solo practice occupational therapy clinic. Traci Svee is a licensed occupational therapist in the Bothell area with over 20 years of experience working in inpatient, outpatient, private practice and school settings. She possesses specialized expertise in supporting children and adolescents navigating neurodevelopmental challenges and sensory processing differences.

Her focus at Sensory Hangar OT is serving children ages 3-9 years of age, providing comprehensive assessment, data driven treatment decision planning and parent consultation for a variety of developmental, emotional, and behavioral challenges, using an Ayers Sensory Integration and relationship based approaches. Her goal is to help your child organize and make sense of their bodies so they can learn, grow and eventually soar into a happy and productive life.

Away from the clinic, Traci loves staying active on the golf course or the tennis and pickleball courts with her husband and two daughters. On quieter, rainy days, she enjoys retreating indoors to catch up on her favorite podcasts and dive into her latest sewing project.

WHAT IS AYERS SENSORY INTEGRATION® (ASI)

Ayers Sensory Integration (ASI) is a theory and therapeutic approach created by Dr. A. Jean Ayers. It explains how our brains process sensory information from the world around us, allowing us to interact with our environment in a meaningful way. The core idea of ASI is that our brains need to effectively register, modulate, and discriminate between different sensations. This includes input from all our senses: touch, movement, body position, sight, sound, taste, smell, and internal bodily feelings knows as interoception. When sensory integration is working properly, it helps us to participate in daily activities and develop important skills. ASI is an evidenced-based intervention often used with children who have autism, but has also been found to be effective with many other populations including those with ADHD, developmental delays, neurodevelopmental conditions, and anxiety and other mood disorders.
